Radical math and science - come and bring projects for us to work on!

This will be a kickoff discussion group with the aim of spinning off new classes.

Discussion topic ideas so far:
1. Computational math, Buckyballs, Chaos Theory
2. Bike and trailer physics
3. Solar and portable electronics math
4. Urban gardening math
.
.
n. Anything else you want to discuss

We would like to come away with ideas for future classes and hands on research projects. We want classes that make math fun, practical and profitable for people to learn; as it is so often perceived not the case in the education system now.

Lets take direct action to provide an alternative to standardized math now!

Email lindsey_walk@hotmail.com if you have any questions or want to add a topic or upload links.

The following are some links provided by some friends so far:

Suggested Materials:
You can bring a laptop if you want (though I don't know if you'll get a signal in the park), or props, or anything visual to use as an example. We want to start by getting math out of the classroom and into the outdoors.

I tried to go!

I showed up but couldn't find anyone...did people meet? Reschedule? When's the next class?
